Don’t Forget the Mystery

This life is more than it seems,

we know.

More than these mortal bodies.

More than the eye can see,

the ear can hear,

we’ve been told.

Follow the path

ahead of you.

When all seems blocked

or obscured –

wait.

Revelation will come,

light will shine,

a voice will speak,

or cloud will surround

and open the way

for you to go.

Transformation

or Transfiguration

will expand

your heart and life

to carry more

love and glory.

All There

It was all there

down at the beach today

we were hushed and in awe

at the glory in the rain

and in the sun

glory in the forest

and in the sea

glory in the fresh air

filling our lungs

in the wind

sweeping by

glory in the bright blue sky

and the deep dark clouds

glory in the walking

glory in the heron

chased into flight

by a pair of labs

glory in our pup

running back and forth

and glory

in the bald eagle

swooping near

Earth Groans

Earth Groans

Shakes and foams

Volcanoes spew

Oceans roar

Fire consumes

Chaos in the clouds

Bring destruction

To the land

Why this groaning

This upheaval

When will it cease

And subside

Another kind

Of shaking

A groaning

A fire inside

Each one of us

Is in the making

The treasure in us

Is being

Tried and tested

Extracted

From the clay

Together with creation

There will be a

Revealing

An uncovering of the glory
