Shameless Audacity

Shameless audacity

Just go ahead and ask

You will not regret it

Pour out your words

Coming straight from your heart

What do you need?

What do you want?

Who are you carrying

Close in your thoughts?

Bring it all up

Bring it all out

Pray –

What will it hurt?

You will be welcomed

You will be heard

In this place

Where heaven meets earth

Connection becomes communion

Ask, seek, knock

Believe and receive

The Spirit is yours

Holy Saturday

Haunted

We are haunted by the brutal cost of our redemption

Images of the One

Broken for us

Flashing across our waking minds

The blood everywhere

Poured out for us

Communion is a haunting

Remember me

Waiting for Easter

All we have are words

And the grief that overwhelms us

Hope is gone

We saw with our own eyes

Our grief tells us

He is dead

Yet

We have words

We will wait

With our grief by the tomb

The Space Between

In the space between

My need –

My prayer

And His provision

There is an opportunity

For communion

With the Man of Sorrows

The Son of Man

Who had nowhere to call home

On this earth

I can enter the Sacred Garden

And stay awake for a while

With Him

While He bears my pain

And works unseen

His answer to my need

I will be changed

Deeply marked

With the fellowship of

His suffering
